There are two features of Readerware I really like that Booknizer doesn't seem to have.
Datacrow not reading credentials file upgrade#
($45 for an upgrade seems steep to me!) I was hoping this would be a good replacement.

I've used Readerware for years, but I haven't upgraded to the newest version. Need to be able to select, collect and group any of the info in the database, not just books in one's collection. Testing "Add Authors" resulted in DL of bio & biblio info (which is what I wanted) but was unreliable: In general, better support and more methods of data input (scanner, Cuecat, text lists (from OCR or VR with spelling check), etc. Need to fully support Windows copy for all displays A prime use of this app to create a shopping/wish list and/or library collection checkoff list is impossible. Need to be able to select specific groups of titles, authors, author bibliographies, etcĮxport/Report content does not include author bibliography and display/edit of same does not support copy to clipboard.
Datacrow not reading credentials file generator#
Needs a text only listing for title/author.Īpp appears to have a customizable report generator (which is good), but I could not find any selection criteria for report content, just auto dump of everything. This works OK for demos of 10-20 entries but is untenable for real life lists containing hundreds of titles or authors. Search function needs better feedback when nothing found (it acts as if it didn't search at all)Īuthor/book lists are not scalable: Large thumbnails take up way too much space. Search function needs a spelling checker (for authors and titles). Search for Neale Walsch yielded none (amazon shows 948 results). Search for Isaac Asimov yielded 435 works (OK, most but not all yet tenable). Needs ability to enter custom genre/sub-genre categories.Īuthors listed alphabetically by FIRST name - should be by surname. In any case, the list is way too short: no listing for fiction or sub-genres such as humor, travel, cook books, romance, fantasy, etc IIRC, genre distinguishes style or form within a subject category.

I will grant that the app subject matter is difficult but.īarcode entry is supported but no ISBN entry DLed, installed and activated without problem.įirst look: Some good, a lot of "needs work".
